  • Prairie Fruits Farm – ¡Mexican! Dinner – Champaign, IL
    This season, Sunday Dinner Club, the private-community dining experience from Chefs and Co-owners Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp (also chef-owners of Chicago’s Honey Butter Fried Chicken Restaurant), will come to the farm to offer a Saturday Dinner-Sunday Brunch series.
  • Locavore Farm – Dine on the Land – Grant Park, IL
    The first dinner of the season celebrates summer’s inaugural bounty with food prepared by The Cottage on Dixie’s Chef Nardi. Music by rockabilly and blues powerhouse Pearls Mahone. The meal includes cocktails, Revolution Craft Beer on tap, farm tour, bonfire and locally-made, artisan and farmers market.

  • Summer Solstice Celebration – Chicago, IL
    The longest day of the year is approaching! Enjoy the extra hours of sunshine at the Sweet Summer Solstice Potluck hosted by Slow Food Chicago and the Chicago Honey Co-op. Bring the fathers in your life along to enjoy delicious food, wonderful company and a tasty local brew.

  • Big Delicious Planet Urban Farm Dinner – Chicago, IL
    This is the 5th summer of urban farming at Big Delicious Planet Catering, Canteen & Urban Farm! Join them for one of their fun 4-Course Urban Farm Dinners in the middle of their hidden West Town farm. 
  • Veggie Bingo at the Hideout – Chicago, IL
    NeighborSpace and The Hideout present Veggie Bingo! Every Wednesday evening from June 15th – August 31st from 5:30-8:00. All proceeds benefit Chicago community gardens. Veggie Bingo takes place at the Hideout at 1354 W Wabansia [map].

  • Local Foods’ 1st Anniversary Party – Chicago,  IL
    Local Foods is throwing a 1st anniversary party for its retail store in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. Local Foods is an innovative purveyor of fresh local produce, meats from The Butcher & Larder and artisan foods, and is home to Stock Cafe. The party will be held in the store’s parking lot and will include cookout treats and craft beverages for purchase. Admission is free, but an RSVP is requested.
  • Openfields Farm Tour – Rockford, IL
    U of I Extension is happy to announce that Openfields Farm Tour will be on Saturday, June 25th from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. On this self-guided tour, visit local producers and learn about locally grown food! View a map of the participating farms.
  • Join Growing Home for their first open house of 2016! Take tours of Chicago’s first and only USDA-certified organic production farms. Learn to prepare delicious, healthy recipes at cooking demonstrations and snack on bites made with local produce. Plenty of kids activities, learning opportunities, and more! Suggested $10 donation. Free to Englewood residents.

  • Illinois Stewardship Alliance’s Summer Shindig – Bloomington, IL
    Illinois Stewardship Alliance’s Summer Shindig brings together members from all corners of the state and is their way of saying “Thank You” to their supporters. Enjoy a tour of Epiphany Farms (9591 North 1540 East Road, Bloomington, IL 61705) followed by food, music and more at Epiphany Farms Restaurant (220 E Front St, Bloomington, IL 61701) in Bloomington.
